Default lost 3rd and 4th gear any ideas?

got the car out of storage last Saturday and lost 3 and 4 on the way home.
Ran great all last season, it was rebuilt last spring.
Dont think its dirt in a valve because it went into 3 and 4 earlier on the drive home.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks
Josh

When you say you lost 3rd and 4th Do you mean it goes to neutral when its supposed to make the shift or does it just hang in second?

Lucas can swell seals and temporarily improve function. Same question as before did it just simply not make the shift or did it nuetral where the 2-3 shift shouldhave been?

If you go to nothing "neutral feel" You have lost the 3-4 clutch set.

Thats what mine did. It happened 300 miles from but luckily it was all 2 lane roads but still driving in mostly 3rd w/3.73s was a bit annoying. When I pulled the pan out of curiosity - I was pretty sure it was done - the fluid looked like a friggin sparkle show!!

I now have a Level 2 w/PT4000 and no complaints here.

when the trans shifts to 3 or 4 just feels like its in neutral. if i get on the throttle pretty hard it kida wants to "surge" but doesnt pull.

Then the unfortunate reality is that the 3/4 clutches have failed or there is a significant hydraulic leak due to it sitting up. I doubt the hydraulic issue though.

Either way it is internal and needs to be removed and disassembled for inspection, rebuilt or replaced.

Good luck with the repairs... holler at me if you would like to explore some options.

Sounds like the clutch pack is burnt. Did you just have it rebuilt OEM or did you buy a street/strip upgrade?

...and where in Ohio are you? This sounds exactly like what happened to my tranny last year...luckily I'm close enough to Rossler to have been able to drive it over for an upgrade so that I didn't have to screw with shipping it.

The performance shop that tunes/installs my car is in Medina. They have a transmission shop they work with that could look at it. ...actually they are installing my 3.73 gears this week.
