Default GTO Oil Pan -- do the ports in the aft LH end need cover??

Hi Sorry to post ANOTHER oil pan thread, but our question is: Does the GTO oil pan use the two M14x1.5 plugs in place of the small cast cover that ALL of the other GM LSx oil pans use? We are done with our swap of LS1 into 1986 BMW E30, and need some comfort factor. We have plugs on those ports now. We assume that the ports in the GTO application are for oil cooler out and back. Is it ok to just leave the ports plugged, or should we get the little cover installed without the plugs in the ports???

See the pic of the GTO pan in the Oil Pan Sticky thread. The cover we're asking about is on all of the other GM pans is just above the oil filter.

Thanks

Garret & Steve finished with our swap (after we get an answer ...)
