Default Total Engine Airflow S2 5.3s flowed on an independant bench!

Well I dont have all of the information but they were flowed on an independant bench. I don't have the flow sheets back yet but just interesting points. The operator said that they flowed very close to what I had stated they would flow. Intake port stalled @ ~.615- .625

Intake
~145 @ .200
~301 @ .550
~303 @ .600

Exhaust(No pipe)
"high" 220's @ .550
"low" 230's @ .600

Also found out that there are 4 bent valves in the heads. Gonna check the springs to see if they have lost any tension and do alil work and throw them back on. Will post the full flow sheets soon.

Thats all well and good, but post back when you have all the data points and find the name of the independant bench owner.

Thanks!

Joe.

Phil, might be interesting to see what the flow numbers are with the intake in place.

How does one set of cnc heads from the same company flow 303 cfm at 600 lift and another guys cnc heads from the exact same company flow 280 at 600 lift. I thought cnc was supposed to be consistant
also, how does the ex ports flow so much more than every other head porter on the market, they flow better without a pipe than GTP and MTI heads flow with a pipe. Tea claims ther ex ports flow 240-250 cfm, I know a guy that has a set of winston cup sb2 heads that dont even flow that much on the ex side, he showed me his flow sheet that went up to 800 lift
I second posting all the data points or my next post will have a little guy raising a flag with 2 certain letters on it
I dont mean to be rude but I hate posts that dont have solid proof to show

Many of the sponsors have stated that heads will flow differently on different benches, which seems to be the case time and time again.

If you want to race a flow bench go ahead, TEA's heads are proven and thats all that needs to be said about them.

The post shows 5.3 flow test. If TEA 5.3's flow like mine and other's ported heads out there, the 5.3's flow better at .600 than a 5.7. Both being "equally" ported. So it does not surprise me to see these numbers.

Vince: don't worry, if your saying your 5.7's flow 280's at .600 they are where they should be if they were flowed on my bench. I've tested crap loads of heads ported by most of the sponsors on this board, and all I'm going to say is 280-290 cfm anywhere from .500 lift up is par for the 5.7 heads as they are tested on my bench. And they might flow better than 280 at .550 lift.

well first like it was said Vince uses stock valves. there is some of the flow difference. Vince also uses 5.7 heads. The others were 5.3 heads.with a 2.02 intake valve.
As far as flow numbers TEA advertizes them with a pipe on the exhaust side. These were flowed without a pipe and flowed in the low 230 range.I would say that is very good. For such a small exhaust port.I guess all those years of dominating the fun Ford Renegade classes (I think there heads won about 90% of the renegade races one year!) has paid off in being able to produce a head with a killer exhaust port. and it doesn't sound like the intake port is hurting either!

if they were mine I would send them back to TEA cause I hear they have a new valve job that is picking up 10 cfm across the board!

I'll have more information at the end of the week but rest assured. The guy I have replacing the bent valves is well known, respected and knows his stuff.
