Default PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 questions

I am about to order all of my parts for my head/cam swap and now am stressing over a few last minute details that I am sure are no big deal but want to ask those who have bought PRCs stage 2.5 5.3l heads from Texas Speed. I emailed TSP but they are cosed and the sale for the panhard rod I am also ordering ends Monday and I would be lucky to get an answer by Tuesday.

1) Valve sizes listed in the description are a 2.04" intake valve while below in the options the only option available is for 2.02" intake valves?

The reason this is a bit of a problem is that I had PatrickG spec a custom cam for me and I need to be sure that the info I gave him is correct.

2) The price lists them as $1199 ea. yet the kit with the cam is only $1649. This has to be just a misprint but I have emailed TSP twice about this before and never gotten a responce.

I have spent alot of time to research all of my parts to try to make this a trouble free swap and these are my last two obsticles.I really appreciate the help everyone!

Alright, well the valve size on the heads that you're looking at are 2.02/1.57.

The price is for the pair. It would be 1199 for the set of heads.

When I bought mine Jon told me they dropped the valve size down to 2.02 and 1.575. This was November '07.

Another reason for the price difference is they are not gonna charge twice for the springs, retainers, and seals. You are basically adding a cam.

I would call TSP on Monday to verify, though.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you! The current PRC 5.3l head ships with 2.02 1.57 valves. I'm currently finalizing the R version of the PRC 5.3l heads which will include a 2.055/1.59 valve combo with air flow approaching 320cfm!!

I'll keep you guys posted on developments!

umm.. not sure if you were looking at these for your SS, but I wouldn't bolt a 2.055 intake valve onto a stock bore.

So are the flow numbers posted with the 2.02 or 2.04?Are these heads going to replace the current stage 2.5s? This just opens up a whole new bag of worms because now my cam is spec'd for those numbers and thosevalve sizes and I just gave the ok to have the custom cam ground yesterday. So do I need to call and cancel that now?

I now have no idea what my numbers will be. This has made me very un-easy so it may be a while before I have it now. Thanks for the interest and I will update as soon as I hear something.

After asking PatrickG who spec'd my cam he has said that the cam he suggested (226/232 .609/.604 113+2 ) works great with LS2s which have less flow than these heads and have 2.00 valves. So since he thinks it will still be a great combo I will likely go ahead and place my order.
