Stereo & Electronics - Do the years matter???

I was wondering if the years mattered between a 01 Formula and 00 WS6 Stock Monsoon Head unit? My Head unit started giving me errors and not playing cds. I am thinking of buying a stock head unit out of a 01 Formula and putting it in my 00 WS6. I was wondering if I would have any trouble with it? Will I be able to hook up my cd changer controls and steering wheel control?

As far as I know you should be ok. I don't think they've changed at all since 98. I may be wrong though...

I'm 99.9% they're exactly the same.

When switching them out is all that I have to do is pull the old one out, rehook all the wires, and put it back in? Will I have any trouble rehooking the streering wheel controls, cd changer controls, or the radio?

no problems, there are 3 connections on a 98+ radio,

Antenna, Changer, and Power/speaker/SWC harnesses.

00-02 are identical. Possibly 99-02

98's CD will not control a changer.
