Default Where to put cut outs

ok i have a 96 lt1 trans am,with pacesetter lt's and ory pipe, and i want to get electric cutouts , should i put 1 behind the y pipe or should i get 2 and put 1 each behind the header collectors so they are coming straight off the headers?

Just put one right before where the pipe goes over the axle.

most people put it after the y-pipe. right after the headers will be stupid loud and annoying. but its all personal preference really. anywhere you want to put it you can. there isnt a right or wrong spot

many people use just one cutout after the y-pipe merge, mainly to save money haha. 2 cut-outs isn't really necessary, unless you want insane amounts of noise. also, i believe that the y-pipe merge helps with scavenging.

ok well i didnt know if there was a certain length u had behind the header collector for enough back pressure

back pressure is not needed. you should be more concerned about exhaust velocity and scavenging.

the speed in which the exhaust gases comes out (determined by tubing diameter and length, and the temperature)

what if you had high flow cats in the y. anypoint in putting one just after the y or buy 2 and put them before the cats?

i have a QTP and it works awesome mine is after the Y but right before the axel there is a lil nitch in the floor pan and it fits perfect thats were mine is and every one else i kno around joliet

where did u run ur wires to, like that go in the car and ur switch

threw the passenger drain hole under the carpet and then into my center console i have teh switch in the center glove box and just wire every thing else up like it says

And... Where did you get the idea to mount the switch there.... oh wait... come to think of it, Who Installed your Cutout and switch for you....
