Default So who really makes those Summit TB's??

I now need a 58mm TB for the planned Heads but cant justify dishing out the $400 for a Holley. I dont want the BBK because its not polished and dont really want to go with Professional Products. I've heard some good about the Summit piece and its a nice price. I called them and asked who makes the TB but they said they were not told or so they claim. They only know that it is indeed made by a company that they carry parts for. So does anybody know for a fact or want to venture a guess?

I really dont think its from China, its got to be made from BBK, Edelbrock or the like because they dont carry any foreign made throttle bodies in terms of LT1's. I dont know if they mean its produced by a company that makes LT1 throttle bodies for them as well or maybe for any vehicle which could make it more difficult to figure out the real manufacturer.

nothing really. I use to have one of there 52MM TB's that I never installed and to my suprise it was a very nice piece. I kinda want to go with something else because Ai was trying to push the BBk and the Holley units because they've personally had such great luck with them so Im undecided.

no problem man. Its a pretty nice piece but I have a couple friends that run the P.P. 5.0 Intake Manifolds that they ripped off of Edelbrock and the quality is kinda shitty but they haven't had any issues so far.

This looks identical to the Summit one now that I compare them closer...

honestly ive had some problems out of my holley. nothing i havent been able to get fixed but know there is the possibility. the summit one is either made by pro products or bbk. the edelbrock piece is nice and functions well. only reason i dont run one is because the plant in my home town that produces wouldnt sell them out right like they would sell carbs to me. really its going to come down to personal preference because theyre all going to do the same thing.

nothing that Im aware of but Ai who are doing my heads recommended I steer away from them simply because they haven't had any results with them and they recommended I look into a couple other TB's that they have used and have had great luck with. I may still go with a Prof. Products TB but not if I can find a nice deal on a Holley or something.

summit cylinder heads are Dart.
summit headers are dynomax black jack's
Jegs heads are Canfields
just a FWIW.

that is more than likely a well known source.

i will never buy another PP product again.

i had a hurrican (i think it was), a rip off air gap intake i went to put on my chevelle. the finish was horrible, and it didnt even seal on the block. it was out of square.
it leaked antifreeze before i got to fire it up.

im not a PP fan.

I saw that and thats an amazing price for one. If it were a 58mm I would have one this instant.
