Default Front sway bar delete?

I am trying to cut as much weight as possible because I really cant afford to build my engine right now and am still trying to improve my times. I have read alot about the front sway bar delete and was considering doing it. I was wondering if anyone on here has done it and can tell me more about it, I know its going to chew up my front tires but at what rate? Is there anything else I can do to cut weight thats not completly gutting my car?( I do still want it to be kind of a street car)

any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated, thanks

I think I have seen quick disconnect kits somewhere but can't swear it was for an F-body.

I took mine off, its a just a weekend warrior, and strip car you will be fine IMO. I drove the track that was 120 miles away and i no problems. Actually when i disconnected and left in the car i pulled the front wheels off the ground. Now i got it out of the car with UMI k-member and front lcas installed, it should really pull the wheels now.

Just take it off and see how you like it.. Some dont mind and dont notice it, and some wont drive with out it.

I leave mine on on the street and take it off when going to the track.

had mine off for over 30k miles. no noticeable difference on tire wear after an alignment. it will let the car raise up about 1/2" or so. not to great on handling. right now i personally wouldn't take it off for weight savings. but then again i haven't gotten to wanting to reduce weight.

Haha thats what I was thinking I took mine off and I drive it on the weekends and at the strip every now and then. Noticed very little difference with it off. It does remove some weight for sure.

haha i actually have to get my car on the road in a couple weeks because i dont want to finish putting my girdle on with out a lift bcuz i can't really get my torque wrench in there. when you do them do you take the panhard bar off and that other bar across the top off?(don't know the real name of it)
and i cant get to my o2 sensor bcuz my jack dosent go high enough and that has to be changed. then i just have to get my manifold on and my fuel pump in and get my car tuned again from you guys, then i'll race you.

Even that thread is crappy. There was a more informative thread before that one that had explainations of what occurs/changes when you remove the front swaybar vs keeping it on.

This thread is a little better https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...front+removing

That thread above is completely useless. Just a bunch of people saying do it or don't do it. Though I would recommend to noobs to look at Foxtron's or Sam's advice over all the others in there, or anyone who understands suspension over the people who say "I do it and haven't had any problems"....
