Default Let's see how much you know about F-bodies

OK. this isn't a game of trivia. It's just something I needed some help with to figure out to save me some time.

Does anyone know what size and pitch of the shifter mounting bolts are for a f-body M6 is ? .......... Last time I installed my Pro 5.0 I found that one of the bolt holes was striped .... So, this week since I got some time off I'm gonna take it out and throw a heli-coil in and fix er up, along with a few other things. I would like to get the heli-coil without having to take off the shifter and measure it. Just tryin to save some time.

Also, anyone got any good tricks to change plugs without having to jack up the car to get at the #8 plug ? And without pullin down the K member ? Not assuming to many good answers on this one, but if anyone has one , I;m sure everyone would like to know.

Thanks

use 2 people for the #8 plug! one from bottom to guide you and the guy from top must due it blindly! the easiest way is to remove the pass coil pack or just loosen it and move it up and out the way

Shifter mount bolts are M8x1.25 and you're going to need long skinny double-jointed arms to change #8.

I found that taking off the coil packs makes it easier to change the #8 plug.

On the #8 plug climb on top of the car, knees on the upper radiator support & battery, right hand on cowl vents, left hand down as far in there as you can get it. You wouln't be able to see anything, you have to feel around.

Take off the coil pack and valve cover to get #8. It only will slow you down about 5 minutes taking that stuff off.

There are two ways to do this:

1. Remove radio and punch through firewall.

2. Trade it in on one with less mileage

That one isn't as bad as it looks. Like brad8266 said take the coil bracket off and its right there.

I have no idea why i didn't think of pullin the coil packs... Actually, pullin the valve cover might gimme some extra clearence too. Take all of five mins. Thanks.
