I read there was a problem with the futral f13 camshafts a while back??
I recently purchased a f13-12 camshaft from a member on l1tech and I would like to know what I need to look for to make sure I don't have one of the bad camshafts. I read on here the problem was the texture of the metal on the cam lobes caused the lifters to fail prematurely because it cut through the oil. I just want to make sure the cam I have doesn't have this problem. The lobes on my cam look pretty smooth with some really fine machining marks.

Here's one I had from a bad batch:
And heres what it did to my lifters:
Alan Futral made good on it and replaced the cam very quickly. I was on my own for the lifters and labor, of course, but it was nice that he replaced the cam without hesitation. The car was a daily driver at the time so i had to replace immediately with a comp cam, but I wouldnt have minded going with another futral cam.
The new cams have a copper colored core inbetween the journals and lobes.
