Default Reverse Lockout????

Hope someone out there can help with this. Just installed a low mileage t-56 in my 99 SS and all the gears seem to be working fine except reverse. You actually have to switch the car off to put it into reverse, start it back up and go about your way. Anyone out there ever expearince or heard anything like this?

Check the solenoid connections. There are two= a skip shift and reverse. Try swapping these connections( the plugs are the same but the solenoids are opposite-acting).
