Default TR230 a good cam to use with stock heads/bolt-on's?

I'm 99% sure I'm gonna go with the TR 230 cam. I have all the bolt-ons, and plan on staying with the stock heads. What are your opinions about the TR 230 cam? I'm gonna go with the rev dual springs as well. I already spoke to Paul at Thunder Racing and he told me I would probably need some tuning, but the cam was a good one for car since I'm staying with the stock heads and it's an M6. Any advice on what else I should get for the installation?

it'll be great cam for n/a apps, but if you want to spray get a standard split cam

Are you geared? I'm running the TR230 with 4.10 gears and Nitto drag radials. I love it on the street. I dropped it in and drove it for 6 months with no tuning, just a HPP3 for the rev limit increase. It drove ok, a little surging. Now since I've got edit and tuned the idle, it's even more fun to drive. I put it in with the isky single springs.

i've got the TR230. it drives fine with tuning. it also makes great horsepower while maintaining a fairly flat torque curve (i made 350rwtq from 3200 to 5700). i wouldn't use this cam for spray though. i see you have n2o so if you plan on using it still i would look into a different cam (one with a traditional split).

i used the rev duals for peace of mind. i don't like the idea of single valve springs on cams like this one. i would also suggest upgrading the timing chain. you can get a single or double rollmaster for pretty cheap from texas speed and performance and it is good insurance.

I love my TR230. Not a single issue at all if you get it tuned right. No surging or hot start issues. Idles great at 900-950, good lope as well.

Does this cam sound real lopey once it's been tuned well, say compared to the TR224? Also, what's the LSA on the TR230?

Thanks

it still sounds very lopey. you definetly can't pull your car off as a sleeper after you put this cam in. i've never heard the 224 but i'm sure that it dosn't lope as hard as this cam. the TR230 is on a 111lsa which is part of what makes it lope so hard

It does lope rather well but through my stock catback it's hardly noticeable under light throttle. At idle you can tell though.
