LS1 into 64 Malibu SS "A" body car I have put the LS1 into my 64 Malibu, but the alternator is hitting the steering box. I had to remove the alternator and it doesn't look like it will fit back . Has anybody done this or seen this before. All help and suggestions are invited

You could try either the Vette front accessories or go to a after market setup (S&P, ATS, etc). And Yes.. with the F-body Front Accessories, the Steering box can come into contact if the engine is mounted to far forward.. what Adapter are you using ?
I am using the BRP.. and I relocated my Frame mount to give me just enough room.. with a bit of grinding on the box and rear alternator mount.
