Bored Marines
http://www.qubetv.tv/videos/detail/3483
A US Marine at a roadway checkpoint, bored to tears, talking to a Baghdad-bound Iraqi taxi driver. You have to understand Marine humor in combat-a little on the sick side, but very funny. This lad's sarcasm and cynicism is profound and hilarious. This is why the Commandant of the Marine Corps tried to have the Marines pulled from Iraq and sent to Afghanistan, because the lance corporals were complaining that they had no one to shoot at. Of course, Secretary Gates turned him down, so now the Marines are passing the word via cab drivers for the insurgents to come out and play.

when I was there a friend made a similar video but spoofed the "meow" scene from super troopers
one time we stopped a car and one marine got the driver out of the car and was talking to him and another marine was lookign through the car. he got a granade out of his pocket and pretended to find it in the car and showed it to the driver and was asking and guesturing about why it was in the car. the driver was freaking out and probably pissed his pants. they made it clear that it was a joke and everyone laughed. I think they even helped the guy out with something before he left.

one time we came across this car pull over on the side of the road at like 2am. there were 3-4 younger males inside and they were hammered. we searched the car and it was clean and then we started questioning them abotu where the booze was
they were way too wasted to tell us, some of them could barely stand. we ended up putting them back in the car and sending them on their way.
It would have been a good idea to take the keys and give them back to them in the morning. it was not my call to make though.

That was cool. I wonder if he got any company.
The inter/intra-service rivalry(in the comments about the vid)will always exist,I guess. I was a Army support troop in VN and I know ,personally, how the grunts felt about us. You'd think we were ,or did, nothing at all. We'd get gassed and once a M-79 round landed outside our site. Generally speaking, grunts don't like REMFs although sometimes you'll hear some appreciation for supt. troops. If I had been 11B,I probably would have felt the same way.
Thank God for all who serve!
