Default Quick 5.3l and T-56 question

I know this topic is on the forum somewhere but I cant seem to find it. I have a 99 5.3 and I'm going to put a t-56 behind it. Do I need to buy a shim to put between the crank and flywheel? Any other advice? thanks for the help!

An LS1 t56? I dont think you can run an LT1 t56 behind it different input shaft length and clutch style.

the '99 5.3l i beleive, if its the same as the LQ4's, has a longer crank end, meaning, if i remember correctly, you can use an LT1 T-56 with a LS1 Bell housing?

I remember reading that somewehre for some reason

the 5.3 does not have a longer crank like the 6.0 did in earlier year's that was only with motor's that offered a manual tranny as a option like the 4.8 and 6,0 pre '01. if it's a ls1 t56 it'll bolt right up to it without any trouble.

Thanks for the help. So no shim required?

No shim required, I just did it to an 06 6.0L and had no problems. These cranks should be identical.
