Default GM Diesel Truck guy saying Hi!

HI every one, I found this site doing a search for installing a line lock on GM abs breaks. It looks like ill be able to find some help on the subject here. I drag race my 6 speed manual duramax truck and want to install a line lock to help with staging, My current three feet method i feel is keeping my down on my 60'. I need to hold the brakes on the line and slip the clutch to build some boost befor launching. I thik a line lock would work but im not sure how and where to put it on a ABS system or even if you can. Ill start a thread some where else for that though!!

Thanx,
Caleb

For now The engine is stock as far as rods, pistons, heads, injectors and so on! I added a Garret GT40-94r Turbo, Dual cp3's ( injection pumps), EFi Live tuning to 550 rwhp. THere is more power to be had in tuning but i keep it at 550rwhp to try and keep the rods inside the block!!! Also a south bend dual disk clutch and some home grown suspension mods along with a set of cal trac bars on the rear!! I have a Spare engine in the shop, just waiting on some more $$ to start the build!

thats cool man. my bro's into diesels too. he's got a cummins that he drives everyday thats set-up mainly for sled pulls. i dont know a whole lot about them, but dont most diesel guys prefer autos? any reason you run a manual?

hey dude, i'm not really sure if i'm following you on the reason you need a line lock.. diesels dont have a throttle to limit air intake, so wouldnt you build boost based on engine speed as opposed to load?

No the turbo needs load to spool, I can tune it to help spool by retarding the timing some but it only dose so much. The main reason i need it is to keep from rolling through the lights while holding the rpms up and holding the clutch in and slipping just a bit. I currently launch in third gear, I can launch in 4th on the street when i dont have to worry about rolling ahead a bit. Right now i use the E brake to hold the truck back at the lights, This isnt real safe so i want to install a lock with a shifter mounted control switch? I can consistantly 60' in the 1.8x's but have done as well as 1.71, its just hard to repeat, with all the comotion going on with the e brake, switching hands on the wheel, shifting and working the clutch.

welcome. I don't know too much about diesel's but from what I've heard you got a sweet diesel engine. My great uncle owns a durmax and loves it.
