Southern Members - Aberdeen, MS new ownership

If some of you didn't know the track at aberdeen is under new managment. They had the track smoothed and they now have working win lights and time displays. The track is a little green right now, but I went out sat. night and made a couple runs. The track really worked well even though it is a new surface. It is only going to get better. The track is really smooth and wide with plenty of shut down.


Just wanted to let everyone know in the the area. I would really like some of the people from Jackson and Meridian to start coming up to meet some of us in north MS. I don't know their schedule and I don't even know if they have a web site up yet, but let me know if you want to get together and go and I will try and find out when they will be running. I am going to find out some phone numbers and find out if they have a working web site.

Get on 82 like you would go to Starkville and then get off on 45(I think they call it 45 alternate). Go north on 45 through west point. It is not too far from West Point. Take the second Aberdeen exit and go right. It will be highway 8. Travel down that road 2 or three miles and the track will be on your left.

Ahhh, that's kind of on the outside edge of aberdeen. Thanks dude. I think they're open on Sunday only right?

I don't have a schedule right now, but last weekend they were open sat. afternoon and sunday. It is going to take a little while for the track to get enough rubber on it, but I hooked well for me Saturday.

Let me know when they are open I live in Ripley and I would like to come down there and run. Who is running the track now?

The guy that owns Huntsville and the guy that owns the big trailer place in Corinth. They build trailers for race cars.........I think his last name is Gallespe.


What about Blue Mountain? Is it ever going to dry out long enough to run up there?

Im' going to go this weekend if the weather is right, I'm still alittle confused how to get there(an address would be nice!) but I'll try and figure it out. Anyone find out what their hours are yet?

When I went a couple of weeks ago it was 20 bucks to run your car. It seamed high, but he was open(TT) from 3 until 11. Looks like you beat me to getting his number.......I finally got it yesterday. I would like to go either friday or sat next week. I may go Saturday night...........that way I won't break the car before the big car cruise in Tupelo

Did anyone go sat?? I went sunday and made a couple passes.

Its alot better track than it used to be,i cut some 1.05 60s on it,it was really hooking good!

So it's $20 to get in? Can you hook me up with a phone number so I can see if they're open this weekend?

662-212-3516 that is the number that I have. When you talk to him ask him about friday nights. We talked to Glidewell sunday and he said he may start doing tnt on friday nights starting at 6. It has been a little hard for us to make it early in the day on sat and sun.

Friday nights would be great, racing in the middle of th day with the hot sun is just wrong

I went this past friday nite. Track is a lot better than i remember. Made only 3 or 4 passes though. The owner acts like he has big plans for the track. Its a little messed up entering on the return lane. I would be pissed if i had a dragster or pure all out race car and there was like three people waiting to pay. You would have to wait on them just to get your car back to the pits. Anyway I think its a chance of rain this fri. nite but if it aint i will be there. Dialing the black car in. Got some bugs to work out but I dont think i have to worry bout hooking there!

I would think that they would have to do something different with the entrance. Especially if they plan to make it into a NHRA track and have all the bigger events there. A couple of guys were talking about Aberdeen getting a lot of the stuff from the Birmingham track that closed.

I guess they are just trying to get the track back on it's feet right now
