Default LS1,2,?? into G body

Would like to install an LS type engine/auto tranny into my 87 monte carlo ss. I'm just learning about these engines so pardon the newbie questions.

What would be the best engine for my car? I realize that not all LS engines fit the same...different oil pans and accessories and engine mount options..

The f body is probably the "easiest" but I'm thinking of something with more cubes...possibly 6.0L what about truck engines? They seem to be going for less $$. I know the intake and oil pan would most likely have to go what about the accessories?

LS2 ? what about the electronic throttle? more difficult to install?

I still plan on doing some research on this, but if you could make some suggestions, that would be nice.

TIA,
Dean

just about any will work, i would venture to say that an 01-02 F-body would be the best. the oil pan with it isnt too low and can clear the frame if the engine is placed right, and you get the ls6 manifold.

the gto's might be a good candidate too. truck pans tend to be a little close to the ground, but some people have used them, and the intake usuallly clears the hood but the alt. might not.
