Default Test for oil pressure??

I'm about to do my h/c swap this weekend, I'm replacing the timing chain so i thought it would be wise to change out my oil pump too.
I have heard the stories about the pickup tube o-ring.
Questions: how much do i torque this bolt and is there a way to test it to make sure I have it on the right way before I start the car?
thanks
-Steve

study jim x's site, www.ls1howto.com its awsome and has all the answers, I just pretty much put it back just like how it came out, I did put the O ring on the pickup tube then installed, otherwise it for sure would have slit

I read his install many times. I want to know if there is a way to test it and make sure I got it right before I put the car all back together, ya know?
