Default T56 assembly question

I am having some trouble with the 5th/6th gear shift rail. When I put the case on, should I have it in neutral? does it matter? Should I put the guide bolts in right after I put the case on? 1st-4th seem right, but 5,6,R do not, so I think they came off. I don't have the guide bolts in. Thanks for any info.

Default

The linkage must be in neutral when you install the bolts. Place the 5th/6th/rev rail to mesh with the interlock. When the case is installed, lift up SLIGHTLY on the 5th/6th / rev rail end and the bolt should go in easily.
