I've heard from a couple of people that if i install headers in CA, i will not pass smog... Is that true? because i really looked forward to installing some.
How about a mild camshaft?

shorties are a waste of time and money
Run a set of LT's with a catted Y and it should pass the smog part just not the visual...
Try to find a smog shop owner thats clueless and just crams the smog sensor in the tail pipe... and it should pass

Yea most shorties come with a CARB number. But they suck! Not worth the money. If you find some dumb *** place that doesnt have a lift and run Lt's with a catted Y and you should pass. But not with a cam too, Sorry, one or the other...
then again smog is only every 2 years! Smog the car and then go crazy for 2 yrs. Then do what you can to make it pass again...lol...or register out of state, which is even better!

i have a set of mac mid lengths and mac catted y. the header has no carb number and i have a custom 220/230 cam. i just smogged no more than a month ago. i went to a test only center, i did have all the smog equipment on there such as egr and air. i just told him i bought the car from a dealer and they smogged it before i bought it.so he disregarded the carb number, and i passed with a lot of area left over.

Go long tubes. I had bought a set of brand new edelbrock ceramic coated headers when I didn't know any better. I sold them at a small loss and bought some American Racing Long Tubes with their Y Pipe instead. I'm not worried about smog. Somebody will pass it.
