Default Is this a good 383 setup?

So I'm working on my 383 buildup and here are the specs.

Eagle 4.00 Forged crank

Eagle Forged 6.125 H-Beam Rods

Manley Pistons 11:1's W/2cc Reliefs

Stg 2.5 TSP 5.3 Heads (63cc)

Custom Cam 242/246 621/614 110+2 XFI/XER on 108icl

Getting the stock TB ported too, no $$$ for a ported FAST right now maybe later on. Is also going to have ARP 2000 bolts, Melling high volume/pressure performance oil pump,LS7 Lifters, 42lb Flow matched injectors etc. CR should be about 11:5-11:6.1 with a GM 3 piece LS1/2 Steel gasket. Other mods are in my sig, any guesses on power or ET? Race weight will be about 3300-3400. Everything look like a solid build? Should be done in another week so I'm getting excited now lol

Only other thing I was wondering about is am I going to be able to re-use my Chromoly 7.400 pushrods on this setup? Also using Stock Rockers.

yea keep the stock rockers, nothin wrong with them. car should put down around 440 450 at the wheels. should run some real low 11's maybe 10's on motor with the weight reduction.

Pushrod length: Measure it! Perioid, I dont care what anyone else says, just do it right.

Rockers: Stock is great, but with all that added HP & torque, I'd suggest having them re-built by HS. That way, IF one decided to throw its needle bearings, they will not go into the engine block and ruin it.

HP: I'm running my 383 with a smaller cam than your new one, and putting down over 470 at the wheels, so I'd estimate you should be at the 500rwhp mark! I'm jelous.

I'm going to tomrrow for an updated tune with my ported fast90 and other mods since its last tune. I'll have more accurate numbers to post tomorrow night.

BTW, if you havnt already measured or thought about it, check your PTV clearances also.

Oh the 500RWHP mark would be awsome but we'll see about that on an A4. As for the PTV it should be fine with 2cc reliefs, the builder said I could run a bigger cam, bigger valves and mill the heads in the future if I wanted to but its all meing checked and mocked up before it goes in the car. I think I'll have him check the pushrod length too, I'm not sure how to do that. Do you have any track #'s yet??

Oh yes! 500rwhp would be nice. I'm due at the dyno later this morning, 11:00am. 2 1/2 hours to go. I'm sure I wont hit 500, but your setup with that cam just might.

Reliefs are good. Should check clearances anyway tho!

My car hasnt seen the track, just the open expressways and traffic lights when driving around town. :-)

Good luck on the install, your going to love it. Keep us posted.

Well, I gained 10rwhp since last years setup. 477 rhwp! 440 tq.

It needed a bunch of tuning in part throttle, WOT only needed a little work, bringing it up the extra 10hp.

At this point, I think I'm all mod'ed out! I dont want to change the cam or block, has all bolt-ons possible and tuned.

Thanks! Guess I was hoping for the 480rwhp mark. :-)

Exhaust is GMMG w/Kooks headers and cats.
...I wont remove the cats.

ASP pulley -check
EWP - check
85mm Lid, MAF, 90mm TB, Ported Fast90 -check

Anyone think this will go 10's with no power adder? Thats what I want is solid 10's without a power adder. Maybe with a FAS 90/90 adn some more diet, or as is?? I will also be doing QA1's up front next month too after I get it tuned. Lets here some thoughts on this!

We've had 383 cars with 244/248 xer cams go to 500rwhp with m6 cars. I think that setup your considering should work really well! I also like the diamond pistons, do you plan on spraying this thing?

I hope you do but I do not think your car at this time will get into the 10s. Good luck.
