Default Reverse lockout solenoid circuit questions

Trying to figure out a few things here. Does anybody know how much current the reverse lockout solenoid draws? Does the PCM sink ground to enable the solenoid? Where does the power wire come from for the solenoid?

Thanks,
Nic

I believe when the solenoid is not energized it blocks reverse.

The pcm sends the signal to enable the use of reverse.

With key off I believe it is very VERY hard to put into reverse but not impossible.

It is pretty difficult but definitely possible to overpower. When its not energized it is locked out

no... you would not.

my buddy put a t56 in his 86 Iroc... it's hard to get into reverse.. but possible.

for a more correct install, you may want a switch.

What about when you put a T56 in a former A4 car? Is it not possible to wire up the Solenoid switch how the factory did?

I have seen it hooked up to the brake switch. You would actuate( release load) when the brakes are applied.

Yes I am pretty sure it's 12v input. Just make it get power via button, toggle switch or wire it to your brake switch.
