converting a 2000 V6 camaro to a 2002 LS1 drivetrain
ok my main concern right now is do i have to change ANY of the wiring from the body harness? i know the engine harness and pcm all have to be from an ls1 and i have it all but do i have to bother ripping out all the V6's wiring or is it just the pcm and engine harness? i know the v6 speedos only go to 120 and i have the ls1 speedo/guage assembly will this just connect to the original V6's wiring and work as it would in an ls1?

IIRC all you have to do is use a 2000 ecu and wiring harness. There used to be a chart floating around somewhere showing all the modifications needed to swap an LS1 into non LS1 fbodies.

i do know about all the other stuff to do the swap like drilling a hole in the firewall for throttle cable as 2000+ v6's had TBW and the k member and obviously suspension...
just like i said im really just concerned about wether or not im gonna have to rip out the dash to pull and swap the interior/body harnesses??

Your not going to have to change anything in the interior electrical wise. There are differences in the electrical harnesses of the V6 and V8. Most problems can be solved by moving some wires. I would HIGHLY recomend getting a factory Helms manual for a 2000 Fbody. It will cover everything about your current set up and also be accurate for the 2002 LS1 as no real changes were made.
