going from a cam to a blower yes you need to have it retuned and you will gain if you have a cam and put a fast 90 in and have it retuned for more airflow

Time for a new shifter. Billet or GMM are the best ones.

What to get now depends on where you eventually want to go. Not all mods require a re-tune. but a good baseline dynotune will give you some more power and let you know how you're doing as you add mods. You should not be having shifting problems with a stock tune on a A4 unless someone has already had the shift points adjusted.

Massillon is that as in Massillon, Ohio? If so, what track are you going to?

I don't think anyone has but if you manually shift it threw the gears you have to shift really early to not bang the rev limiter from the shift from second to third...yeah the one and the same massillon ohio....from around here bud???

last week I went up to drag way 42 on tuesday....13.6 at 103.4

That's where I ran my 11.7 and the top GTO in the state (twin turbo) ran a 10.8 last year

...Macedonia.

Here's what Back Street was tuning today, (LS7 based Mongoose Motorsports Corvette GTP replica) http://buckeyegoats.com/phpBB/viewto...?p=54571#54571

Two weeks ago when I dropped my car off they were tuning a twin turbo LS7 Solstice for Mallott Cars.

You won't find better work, and they treat your car like their own.

the only thing is my car doesn't shift outta second when I take off in second so won't it just stay in third the hole time?!?!?

Manually putting it into second gear starts you out in second and stays in second. It's that way so you can start out easy in snow or ice. If you manually put it into third gear, it'll start out in first and shift normally up to third, but won't go into fourth (overdrive). I usually manually use third at the track.

Yep, that's what I do anyway. Make sure you have TC off too. The 2004 A4 GTO should have a 6,000 RPM shift point. That's about right for stock or with light mods (like bolt-ons) because when it shifts it drops you right back into the top of your torque curve. Running a stock A4 higher than 6k is not good on the tranny. Trust me, I personally know. A tuner can remove the torque management which will help a bit.

ahh so the real reason you got that stage 2 tranny is cuz yours took a dump haha.......for some reason if you mainly shift my car it likes to carry second gear out you have to shift real early just to know bang the rev.limiter....yeah my buddy has one of those hypertech tuners but in order to use it on mine he has to reset his car back to factory settings in order to do it to my car
