Default CETA mod, etc on Formula

Hi all,

I'm going to do the CETA mod on my 1997 Formula and had another idea.

The standard Firebird spoiler looks like it's in two pieces: the hatch itself looks like it's one piece and the top part looks like it could be seperated. I was thinking of pulling this piece off or masking it real well and painting it the same flat black as the portion of the bumper I'll be painting.

I haven't even done a Photoshop of this yet and I'm not sure it'd look good anyway. Any input? Has anyone done this?

There are some photos here somewhere that someone painted the top portion a matching color as their roof panel. (Black)
But I'm not gonna search'em out, ...

I saw someone who had that done on theirs (probably in the LT1 section, which is where I hang out most) and thought it actually looked pretty good, so I've been debating doing it too.

I've seen the CETA on a white formula and the the CETA car above, shame they never made a CE Formula! On both it looks great. The hatch part to me would look a little funky IMO.

agree, it would look like yours was broken and you replaced it with a black one but never got it paint matched.

That looks pretty damn nice- maybe I'll do that on mine before painting it to see if I like it enough to keep it that way.

What about painting the top flat spot on the spoiler, and not the 'bowl' part up next to the rear window?

Good point, might need to do some photoshopping first.
