Default First runs this year. Tell me what you think.

Went to Capital Raceway up in Crofton MD yesterday(friday 4-18). My first two runs were alot better than last year, best last year was 12.5. But third run i missed a gear and ran a 12.6. Still think I should be going faster. I have a D-1SC procharger, 42# injectors, inline fuel pump, headers with full exhaust, LCA, Weldin subframe connectors, PHB, tune, and removed rear seats, seat belts, jack and spare tire. Running on 17" TTII and Nitto drag radails. Tell me what you think. Here are my two good runs. Over all the night was good except it took us an hour to get up there in traffic and sat in tech for over an hour.

1st Run
R/T .749
60' 1.927
330 5.275
1/8 7.956
MPH 92.54
1000 10.230
1/4 12.149
MPH 115.60

2nd Run
R/T .732
60' 1.915
330 5.284
1/8 7.959
MPH 92.75
1000 10.223
1/4 12.131
MPH 116.31

3rd Run
R/T 1.065
60' 1.946
330 5.361
1/8 8.197
MPH 85.58
1000 10.591
1/4 12.630
MPH 104.96

.400 is a big improvement. Sorry more folks didn't have an opinion. I always looked at performance this way. No two cars are the same even with the same mods. No two lanes on the same track were the same on the same night. So, when I saw a .400 improvement I was happy. I wrote down everything I could about the run. Temperature, lane, tire pressure shift points etc. etc. I did that so if I ever ran again on the same track or a different track I had a bench mark. Seriously, your car is close to another milestone, the 11's. Once you get there you'll still want to go quicker.

Good luck hope everything holds together. Your first two runs were good enough for bracket racing. Truthfully you left .200 at the tree but even that is reasonable. What the hell was in your mind on the third run? 1.000 something reaction? You looked up got pissed, when you saw the reaction, missed a gear. There are alot of head games in drag racing. Learn to focus even though that's a FORD.

Thanks for the comment back. I am very happy with the .400 improvement. I did not have any suspension mods done last year expect the subframe connectors. The last run I had been sitting for about an hour in the staging lanes due to a breakdown and guess i just fell asleep at the tree. But in all seriousness I am not sure what happened and i did miss both 3rd and 4th gear. I think i was just pissed at myself for missing 3rd and got in too much of a hurry and missed 4th. BTW it was supposed to be a ford i was running be he tried to hop lanes and get a run in quicker than he was supposed to and got held back. But the first run i cant remember what i ran, 2nd run was a 8.5sec splitwindow vette, third run was a civic.

I think with better tires I will have no problem hitting the 11's, I just hope my rear holds together for it.

That is an accomplishment when you make enough power to bust the axles or gears. You're headed that direction.

Lane flipping happens at all track. Many of my vehicles looked stock. Old man driving his kids car, hood never came up, thats an easy win. As long as the track let me run. The helmet always came on after we had been been flagged to the starting line. Hopefully the cameras were rolling when you treeed the *** clown and half tracked him.

Like I said good luck have fun - Racing costs money!!

It must be nice to dragrace after not being able to for many months. Good luck hitting 11s this summer.

I am sure i have 11's in my future. Just need to get some better tires. Been looking for a set of M/T E.T. streets for a decent price but looks like everybody is sold out of them. With those Nitto 555r's i feel like i am spinning through the whole 60 foot.
