Default 2003 Z06 cam-only, 432rwhp/400rwtq (Guess the cam!)

I have a 2003 Z06 with long tube headers and intake as my only mods. I recently got the car baseline dynoed at SCT in Orlando and made 379rwhp/360rwtq. I decided to do a cam swap, so I took the car to Mike Norris in the Orlando area since he's the man for LSx tuning ( www.mikenorrismotorsports.com ) to see what he could do. He explained to me that he typically quotes STD numbers because his SAE correction is low, in order to keep it apples to apples. His baseline STD numbers were within 2hp of my SAE results on a different dyno a few months previously (377rwhp/360rwtq) so his quote is accurate.

Anyway, the final result after tuning ended up being ~432rwhp/400rwtq, which is a gain of 55rwhp and 40rwtq!

GUESS THE CAM SPECS!

Magic Stick 3 (just to go for the "shock" factor in the results )

Very nice results, BTW.

226/228.....on a 114. MS3 cams traditionally don't make that kind of tq on a cam-only application. It has been proven.

Something between 230 and 238 on both sides. Power peaked before 6500 so cant be too big unless you have a sub 110 LSA.

My actual graph showed a peak right at 6500, but 6000-6800 (rev limiter) was within 5hp. That was the only slight difference vs. the graph I posted above.

Ok fine...

224/230 .609/.604 113+2

It's the exact same cam that Patrick G spec'd for this C6 A4 (and matched his dyno graph almost exactly)

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/876558-patrick-g-designed-camshaft-c6-a4-results.html

I'm so stoked how tame this thing rides! These XFI lobes really kick ***.

My tuner had the same cam in stock, but ground on XER lobes and predicted ~410-415 rwhp. Luckily we went with the XFI this time.

I told you this cam was KILLER! I designed it for my turbo application, but when it ran so well with 9.2:1 compression on motor, I started recommending it for other NA applications. The curve is a thing of beauty.
