Default Stuck slider pins

How did you take out your stuck slider pins. If you heat them up, do they just slide out or do you pry it out with pliers?

I had the same problem. After fighting it for several hours I took it to a local shop paid 20 dollars and let them get it out. They did tell me they had to heat it up to remove the pin. when I got the bracket back I installed new pins and bolts and all is well.

When I first got my formula one of the pins on a rear caliper was locked in place had to use the oxy/acetylene torch to get it out.

You have to use more heat than you would think. I least I did. Put some penatrating oil on there, heat it up and pry it out. Once its out, clean it up and install a new lubed pin.

It was hard for me to get it out...only had a heat gun. But I let it sit there with the heat on it for about 5 minutes and then yanked on it with a pair of pliers....it came out with some considerable force. The new one went in with no problem, though.

Same thing I had to do. One person with the torch til it was cherry and the other had the bolt in some vise grips. Just make sure you take the rubber boot off before you heat it. Even though the boot is probably ripped up and thats why the pin is stuck in the first place . Be sure to re-grease when you put it back.

After some penetrating oil, heat three came out. The last one decided to snap. rigged the caliper to work for now. Anyone have the part number for the front caliper bracket? Do the sliders come with the new bracket? I am in Guam so I would have to order it from the mainland.
