Default Timing chain play

I just changed my cam and when i opened it up it was kinda loose on the side in between the gears. When i put it back on it was it was super tight but the sides still had the play in them is this ok is it suppose to be like this.

Did you install a new chain? In a nutshell, yes there is some slack.

I had a small amount of slack when I did my cam swap.

Next time swap the timing set and chain since it is not that much dough. Double chain sets stretch less.

The factory chain is designed to be loose.
