Default Whining noise between gears

Recently a noise started coming from the tranny only when moving between the gears. It only makes the noise when going into the next gear and not when coming out of one. It's not the same kind of noise as a gear grind either, just sort of a spinning winding noise. Also it doesn't make any noise while the car is just sitting at a light or anything, only when shifting under a load. I did manage to figure out that if I wait a few seconds for the RPMs to come down before shifting into the next, that it doesn't make the noise. I'm pretty new to manual tranny problems so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
