Default Guys with QA-1's

Are you using dust boots and bump stops up front? I just put some DA's up front and the stock boots don't fit on the QA-1 shaft. Just wondering what everyone else did. Thanks.

I have the single adjustable QA1's and I had to modify my dust boots to get them to work. If I remember correct I just enlarged the hole in a drill press so they would fit over the shaft.

What I did is I pulled the bump stops out of the dust boots, then I rubbed liquid hand soap in the holes in the bumpstops (you need 2 per shaft).Set the QA1s to full firm with the shaft extended. I then slowly worked the first bumpstop down until it was completely on the shaft (small part of bumpstop facing up).
With the Second bumpstop I repeat the same process except, face the small part of bumpstop down while installing it,and I only work it down far enough that the upper spring mount is up against it when mounted. Repeat all steps on the other QA1.

For the bumpstops to be effective you need TWO per shock.

These are all factory bumpstops.

This works well for me!

Also, the dust boots are not reused.
