Default F14 or F14 highlift? soundclips? opinions? experiences? hp & tq?

i after looking through about a billion cams i think i have finally found one thats right for my car. i think i am going to go with the Futral F14. i have been talking to John at futral and he has been very helpful. i haven't decided if im gonna go with the "regular" of the "highlift" yet. i was wondering if anyone has any expierence with either of these cams? how did you like it? also wondering if the highlift F14 will wear out valve springs? this is my daily driver. please post any opinions, soundclips, problems, or dyno results along with cam specs( LSA 112 or 114 ,+2 or +4, exc.). also, what do you shift at? did you upgrade your injectors? i would really like to hear some soundclips but youtube and streetfire don't really have any. anything will help. thanks

Just my .02, I'd go with the standard lift one. I have the HL, not sure I'm too impressed by it personally. I just keep thinking about 646 lift, 646 lift, 646 lift. The F13 is great as well, has proven itself. I won't beat down my cam too much until I make some reasonably clean passes at the track. Gotta solve wheel hop right now.

I had the regular F14 and was very pleased with that cam. I personally wish I had the high lift version, but it was released right after I got mine. I currently have a new cam on the high lift lobes, but not an F14 and I think the car has a cleaner idle.

i'm in the same process of picking out a setup and i'm interested in what advice you hear. i've been talking to allan at futral and i've also decided to get the fm14. ...since i'm on a budget and i don't want to spend the extra $$ for high-lift double springs, i'm going w/ the standard lift cam. apparently the high lift one only adds 6hp anyway.

I'd go w/ the standard lift if it's gonna be a street car.

6hp to the motor or to the wheels?

I can't imagine the high lift being worth it on stock unported heads. With some nice heads it would probably make a decent gain over the regular but on stock 241's they just don't flow enough to make it worth the beating your springs will take.

I went with the highlift version. I'm getting it dyno'd next wednesday, so if I remember I'll try to post up some results. According to Futral the highlift version is worth approximately 10rwhp over the standard version. We will see.

not sure. here's a quote from an e-mail allan sent me:
"The high lift version has more lift and generally makes 6-8 more hp. You will need a good set of dual springs."

for me, "good dual springs" = more $$$. i'm already spending about $1400 on heads + cam + headers + springs + tune which really isn't bad except i'm a poor college student working part-time at frito-lay.

Depends on the heads. I know the high lift makes a good 10-12 more rwhp on a set of stock ls6 heads.
