Question You guys with a VAC/BOOST gauge... what vac are you seeing at idle?

Just curious... I dont think my boost gauge is working correctly and would like to know what is "normal"? I know all cars will be different.. but what is yours showing for VAC at idle?

Thanks.

Right now Im seeing 11-12 in/hg at idle.

Stock LS1, 6.0L heads, blower cam 221/227 580s 114... D1SC.

Well.. while Im here I might as well ask....

Setting my AFPR... do I set base FP w/o the vac hooked up? So at 0psi its a true 58psi?

With my 347 9.35:1 with speed inc SC2 cam (224/232 .581/.595 114) AFR 225 72cc heads I get around 12-15 in/Hg at idle. When cruising on the highway it often goes to 20 in/Hg.

there is no magic answer to this question...it depends on mods, cam, your altitude.

just remember what it is now and take that as normal unless you have a leak

Thats kind of what I figured. I thought mine was a little low but I suppose with a cam and 6.0L heads its possibly normal?
