i'm doing the swap sooner or later in a 97ta i think there's an issue w the fuel level sender and the h2o sender. So a 98 h2o ls sender has to be used. and i dont know about the fuel. but i'm looking for a whole car to do the swap with. what year ais yours. Good luck keep it posted.

intakes i would say whichever you can get you hands on the cheapes there about the same

Total waste. Could have built a kickass 383 LT4 for the money wasted on a 75 more horsepower engine

obviously you don't know the potential the LS1 has over the LT1. Money wasted now will payoff in the long run!

i don't think so, i would never go back to an lt1. i would do this again any day of the week, my buddy had a 383 with afr lt4 heads blah, blah, and his only made around 400rwhp and couldn't break 11's. i have ported 5.3 heads and a small cam THAT was allready on the ls1 when i bought it. my driveabilty is way better than my STOCK lt1 not to mention faster, smoother, more fun and better gas mileage which i don't care much about but still better. there is nothing wrong with an lt1, just outdated IMO. i have a total of $3200 in my ls1 swap. i don't think i went wrong at all. it's funny when someone thinks they lost to an lt1 to

I agree. LS1>LT1. Plus, the LS1 will, as mentioned, be 100% more streetable than a LT1 slobering all over itself at the stoplight. LT1 does respond to mods, but mod for mod, the LS will come out ahead.

And yea, you probably get some weird looks from people when they think they got smoked by a not-so-mean sounding LT1 silver!

thanks for the info guys, i have some more ??'s, did u have any problems with the theft deterant system, and how bout the gauge cluster, will that work too.let me know thanks josh....btw my lt1 that i sold was an LE 1.5 setup. ran 11.9's on motor and had 150 shot. the reason i sold it was cause i wanted something new and also i love the way the lsx motor responds to mods.my bro was running 12.2's on a cam only ls1, compared to all the money i spent to do my setup.also wanted to take on a task that not alot of people know about...

i didn't have a problem with the theft system but i did use the pcm and bcm from my 01 donner car, the 97^ clusters do not fit in the 93-96 camaro dash. trans am might be a different story. i used the 01 dash/wiring so it was all plug and play
