F***!! Piston/rod pin retainer question.
I took my new piston to a supposedly reputable guy with a machine shop to install it onto the rod. My friend picked it up for me. I went today to start working on my truck, and the pin just fell out! The dumb f*ck didn't even put the retainers in. What if I hadn't noticed? If he is closed today, is there anywhere I can get these retainers? Do the LS1's use the same size as the SBC? Thanks for the help.

Stock LS1 pistons use a press fit pin. If that fell out...well, you're just fucked. An aftermarket piston usually uses a .927" floating pin, and some have a .944" pin for stock rods. The locks have to be designed for that piston, or else it may fail to keep the pin in the piston.

Oops, it's a 6.0, not an LS1. I thought they were the same. I know there are 2 locks because I saw them in the box with the piston. I will go by the dumb ***'s house and see if he still has the box.
