Default Will a 2002 LS6 oil pump work on a 98 ls1 vette - quick answer needed

To make a long story short I disassembled the ls2 pump I had before I was aware that it was absolutely necessary to reinstall the gears with the same face facing outward as before. Since I'm not absolutely certain that I have them in the same direction I'm going to the store to pick up a new pump ($150 mistake). I'm going with the ls6 pump this time (I have zero confidence that an LS2 pump will work with a LS1 motor (pickup tube is different). Will the 2002 corvette LS6 pump work with the 98 corvette LS1 engine?

It will work, but big waste of money. Take a look at the other thread you posted concerning the o-ring. The pump you have will work with no issues.
