GTP Stage 2 Heads
Worth the money? I personally haven't decided if i want to go N/A or F/I so i want to know. Those with GTP Stage 2's.. How are the numbers and would you buy the heads again if you had to do it all over again?

Very nice numbers guys. I was considering going with a CAS TT system but GTP stage 2's and an X1 cam sound better and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Re: GTP Stage 2 Heads
if you have the money to burn then get them... but if you want to spend a little less its other companies out there like TEA and AS that are putting down 420-445rwhp also
GTP is great, but many of us would rather save 1000bucks and maybe have 5-7hp less give or take(if that)

I would run either Joe Prince or Craig Gallant heads(GTP) if i didnt do my own work. Most important data to you should be who runs the most mph with there 400+ rwhp heads, and what there cars weigh, dyno output is fine but 1/4 times and speed are the real tell tale of head and cam package results!

I'd go with someone who stands behind their work. Craig of GTP does not. I went directly through GTP and got a new set of heads with bad valve guides. Craig wouldn't help. I'm not sure if you would do better getting the same heads through Thunder though. I've always had good experience with them.

Re: GTP Stage 2 Heads
I am in the same boat as you, leaning toward gtp's for my car, while track times and mph is a good gauge to judge a set up, sometimes it doesnt show everything, I am a firm believer in the dyno, the more power the car makes the more you have to set the car up to get the power to the ground, look at every dyno on gtp heads, there are dynos from all over the country on different dynos and they pull some great numbers. the more power the car makes theres more potential to go faster with more mph, that simple

Re: GTP Stage 2 Heads
Appreciate the reply's guys. You've pretty much made up my mind to go N/A over F/I now.
Josey.. How do you like MTI's X1 cam?

I had GTP's...had MTI touch them up...picked up 12rwhp and 5mph....
MPH says a lot...
If money isn't an issue go for the MTI's or GTP's
If money is an issue TEA, Absolute and maybe a few others should be considered. One can do a lot of other go fast mods with the $1000 difference...

Re: GTP Stage 2 Heads
Everyon always classifies TEA heads as budget heads. I dont get it. I have a buddy locally(LoNslo) trapping 123mph in a 3400lb with TEA heads and a 230/227 cam.... Seems to me the actual COMBINATION and not just the heads can make all the difference.

Re: GTP Stage 2 Heads
Tea's are classified as a budget head becuase they cost less, they are a less expensive head, BUT, what I have seen from dyno's they dont stand up to gtp's, dyno is the proof, the more it makes on the dyno the more potential it will have at the track. tea' are stuck at the 400 range were gtps are always at 440. cant argue over the facts

We'll see how stuck my car is at around the 400 range in a couple days.
