Default Squale n da houZ!

Sup everybody. I'm Tony, live in Ohio... I've been racing a notchback mustang for a few years, then had an urge to buy another Z28 like I used to own...except this one's a drop top w/LS1. So um, ya....It's got Borla catback and an SLP air lid. I need to know, where can I purchase one of those roll bars for the convertible? I want it for safety, and b/c they look cool. Also, any recommendations on what to modify first to help my top end? I was thinking full length headers and the whole y-pipe deal. What should I do on the intake side of things besides the SLP lid? Thanks.

what is a squale?

what year is your z28? that will show if you have an ls1 or ls6 intake, if you have an ls1, you can pick up an ls6 for about 325$ and pick up around 15+ or so hp. the FAST 90 setup is much better, but will run around 725$, and isnt the best bang for the buck, until you start getting into higher HP setups where it really opens up and shines.

i'd go longtubes and X pipe, to true duals. thats the best flowing system besides cutouts.

lid is definately a must, can also port and descreen your MAF and throttle body yourself.

I think I'll stick with the original setup instead of the true duals... Until I do the headers, etc, how much hp would I gain by having a straight pipe welded in where the catalytic converter is?? Would that open up some more power? Eliminating the catalytic converter wouldn't throw on any check engine lights would it? Thanks. Oh, and Squale is what people call me lol. Part of my last name.

Here's some pics:

Normally on fridays I try to make it at the Greene(k mart) cruise inn..ALOT of cars there, about 200...Although I work in Huber I dont hang out much there..Have you joined Daytonfbody.org ? You should as you can meet alot of locals with different set ups and see wich one you like..Alot I would say 90% of the people that are on daytonfody.org live in huber and meet up there..

I'm off tomorrow if you wan to meet up somewhere(provided I know where its at) let me know..My cam is not TOO large, but its a decent size, but it can still creep in a parking lot a 5mph,and no stalling or bucking..I'll give you the number to my tuner..so if you decide to stab a cam in you can talk to him..

No, my name is john, and I drive a NBM formula..I was parked next to my friends NBM trans am...

So you get your bottle filled at Precision..My car is on their site..With the old cam it put down 424rwhp(per site),but corrected it was 417 rwhp 407rwt..Its the NBM formula on their site "john valks" formula..

I just had my friend Marc stab in my new cam and it now puts down 435rwhp 407rwt(corrected)..Precision may have a copy of my new dyno sheet if you want to look at it..

So what mods do you have done to your notch besides the spray? how big of a shot, and hows traction on the street?

I now have a turbo kit..dont know when or if I'll install it as a 75 shot would put me over 500rwhp and would be easier..Have to think about it

Yeah back to me this weekend..I should be home by 4pm,but not positive,if not we can try next week
