this has to be a first most lt1s wont start but mine wont turn off. sometimes when i turn my car on, the ignition will lock and i cant turn it off. so i have to pop the hood and pool the ignition fuse. and then i have to turn the key as if i was going to start it and move it back and forth a few times and then it will disengage. also when this happens my gauges go crazy like if i pull the parking brake up the low coolant light will come on, and the blinkers wont work the ses light will come on for no reason its really weird.but like i said this only happens a hand full of times

Sounds like your ignition key switch may be going bad

Spray some dry graphite into the ignition switch and turn it a few times and see if it frees it up. Had that same thing happen on my truck about 6 yrs. ago and put some dry graphite in there and haven't had a problem since.

if i spray the dry graphite in it, it wont mess with the resistors/vats will it.

Check the shifter. I dumped a coke in my console and it gummed up the the saftey switch. It was a pain in the *** to get the key out.
