Default can't get cam gear off...NEED ALL ADVICE PLEASE!!!

ok, working on a buddy's car and can't get the cam sprocket off for the world. it acts as if something just has it caught. its not crooked or in a bind. we put a lil bit of heat to it, but not much. i know there has to be someone out there who's had similar issues. please give me any and all advice you can think of

thanks

no, i mean the gear on the end of the cam. i have the three bolts out but the gear seems to be stuck some how. we are now thinking that some locktite may have seeped in between the gear and the end of the cam causing them to be stuck together. do you see this being possible.

yeah between locktite, a high mileage engine, and all the heat that comes along with it it may just need a small amount of convincing.

Sorry, my bad on thinking you meant the crank gear.

I replaced my cam gear when I did the cam because my gear had some cracks. I think it was only about $45 at the stealership, cheaper at SDPC.

Which Loctite, red or blue. Loctite can be overcome with heat. I gather the chain is still on?

If you use any "force" methods, put the bolts back on an finger tighten, then back each off 1/2 turn. Last thing you want is the cam to move rearward with force and damage anything.

A puller might pop it off.
