What is the a good brand of scanner to purchase, would like to stay around $200 if possible. Also what would be the stock convertor stall speed in an A4 trans? J

stock stall i believe is somewhere in the 1600-1800 range...If i stall my car up at a light, it holds at 1600 before the tires finally break loose...

AFA scanners, probably need a little more information. Do you just want a basic hand-held? Do you want to be able to clear DTCs? Do you want to be able to log data? Do you want a software/firmware PC or Palm Pilot based one?

I do not need to log the info., but I do want to be able to clear codes and be able to maximize the performance of the car.
