Default LT1 to standarts SBC

When my lt1 goes I was considering going to a standard SBC but was wondering if there was a way to keep the fuel injection?

LT1 in what? A f-body? Keeping the EFI with the factory PCM would be difficult.

2 things make the LT1 special:

1) No coolant flows through the intake manifold. That makes it tough to just stick it on to a regular SBC motor.

2) The LT1 PCM needs the optispark reluctor wheel for timing reference.

If you run an SBC, you could get a TPI harness/ECM/distributor (90-92 F-body, for example), run a Miniram style intake manifold, and it'd look pretty close to an LT1 motor. Though you'll need to run a low profile distributor, and probably have to install the motor from the bottom with the distributor already in the motor.

I think it can be done, but IMO it's probably not worth the effort.
