Exclamation New Trans Mount Now Vibration

Alright....So I just put the Prothane tranny mount in my car, took it for a test ride and notice I'm getting a noticable vibration at anything over 2000rpms. Is this normal for this mount? My biggest question is if the car is safe to drive...Or if I some how managed to do something wrong.

Yes it's normal. I know of a few who could not tolerate it and went back to stock.

It will get better when you get more miles on it. Do you have poly motor mounts too?

^^^ Yup mine only did it for ~100miles.

Good question. Did you do the poly motor mounts? You might wanna consider that in the near future, as going with poly trans-rubber motor mounts will put undue stress on the bellhousing risking cracks.

I could be wrong, but aren't the poly tranny mounts a little "taller" then the OE rubber ones? If so, wouldn't that effectively alter the pinion angle, and in turn cause some vibration?

^^^ I've had trouble finding a rubber one for 1998-2002. The only one's i could find were listed as the LT1 T-56 mount. I know it's the same but, if the parts store has a hard time finding one, ask them to look for that one.

If you grind down the preload bumps on the mount most of the vibration will go away. I ground down the preload bumps on my poly mount over 5yrs ago, And I've never had any problems with it .

That's with the ES mount not the Prothane.

I'm noticing a huge difference with this mount. Even though I have the vibration now, the weight transfer in my car is a whole lot better. Instead of jus the drive train torquing the whole car squats and goes....
