Default TR230 ????

I just got a good deal on a TR230 cam, but my friend says it is to big to use with the stock heads/pistons. So.....I need help. My car has full bolt-ons(with Manley valvetrain), 4000 stall, stock rear gears.

Can I use this cam without ANY problems????? Please tell what you guys think!!!!

The TR230 cam fits on stock unmilled heads, stock valves with no problems. Hell Even the new 236/230 cam fits on stock heads. If your heads are milled then I would give thunder a call and check on that.

Thanx.....Yes, my heads are not milled any(never been off the car)......with the Manley springs, should i have any worries about valve float? My springs only have MAYBE 3500 miles on them right now...and I do have the titanium retainers....
I figured to set the rev-limit to about 6500-6600, the cam is 111 LSA, that should be ok then?

i shift at 6600 with my tr230. i have yet to have any problems with valve float, but my springs are still fairly new. you should be perfectly fine running this cam though

My cam is in the 230/236 range, with 918's after 6K still going strong

only problem you'll have is making sure you don't break that stock rear
