Default Lookin for a short shifter...

Looking for the best option for a short shifter for a camaro t56. This guy at my shop has the hurst shifter, but its just the bottom plate that bolts on to the trans. Dunno if that actually shortens your shifts or not. But I also want the upper part and ****.

I also need to know the best place to get it from. And if any of you guys have a shifter for sale let me know.

the factory installed hurst (ss and ws6 cars had the option) IS indeed a shorter shifting unit.

however from the factory they came with the same stick as the base model which has the rubber bushing in the base (SUCKS) and is the same lenght.

by adding a regular short stick (lou's, afterthoughts auto, ebay) you will GREATLY improve the shifter setup.

i measured the difference on my car....shifting from 1st to 2nd....

stock shifter and stick had 8" of **** travel

factory hurst shifter and lou's short stick had 3.5" of travel

besides being firmer

The factory hurst is actually a very nice unit. I liked mine but traded it out for a Pro 5.0 that I already had in my garage. The Pro 5.0 is much more solid going into 3rd gear.

I have the UMI Short stick on mine and LOVE it. It is angled a little more towards the driver than the LSS.

i had a stock hurst shifter, replaced it with the pro 5.0. pro 5.0 shifts alot firmer and smoother then the hurst.
