Street Racing & Kill Stories - C6 z06 vs me

Well last me and my wife were out cruising with some of our buddies when we happen to come up on a beaty dark blue c6 z06 w/ black wheels.he wouldnt roll down the window and talk when i tried,dont know why:confused:
just trying to be friendly. i had the bottle heater on cuz we had messed around alittle that night with some locals.but at the light he didnt hit it, we took off slow and easy,and about the time i went into 2nd about 35mph he's about half a car ahead of me, then he lets it loose as do I:drive: we are motor to motor, he is barley pulling me by the time we get to top of 4th 130mph,he is about 3/4 of a car ahead. a little ways i follow him and we turn the corner on to another road and i pull to the inside and rev alittle and purge it then he jumps me again but im armed this time:devil: so i hit it :drive: pulled a fender on him in first,second had a car by top of 4th 2 1/2 cars on him.
we stoped and talked at a gas station up the road and talked. he was shocked to see how many cars i got him by on the 2nd run but i explained what i had done. he had cat back exhaust and an intake.he plans to do headers and cam soon:lol: .very cool guy and fun race.

Good kill with the n2o. My head/cam goes in Monday and my friend already got me a race sat up with one and he agreed to run me from a dig so ill have a shot as long as we dont go past 120 :D. Hes stock and on street tires.

Streets are the streets man. Could have been any # of reasons the Vett held so closely. Traction being one of them. I was in a buddies ZO6 and he showed me the difference it makes by pushung that active handling button. The car stays straight and moves out well. It isn't like our traction control BS. Maybe he had that off. Who knows.

I wonder how much it takes for a F-body to hang on a C6 Z. 3:73 helped you a lot, it did make the difference for me when I had one until it went to pieces on the dragstrip. I'll put the 3:73 back when I'll get the 9inch.

There were traction issue's in 1st and 2nd the asr was off. have 315 nito dr's but it still spun ,the z06 hooked pretty good. i dont know any numbers. the nearst dyno is about 200 miles from here. hoping for 480-490 on motor and 650's on spray.

the c6 z06 can move!! he didnt spin as far as i could tell. he drove pretty good, it was between 2 1/2 and 3 cars. its hard to really count when your watching for your shift light and look for cops and notice how many cars you won by.

i dont see how you hung so close on motor, because with his mods he should be in the 500rwhp area. and with his weight adv and aerodynamics. he should walk you unless you make 530+rwhp which i have not seen out of a h/c street car. so good kill on the spray run but id say the motor run he had traction issues or a driver error

I dont see how you could beat them from a 40 roll. I have a friend with a 99 cobra with 4.10s n full boltons except for headers n i have a 99 z28 with a catback n lid n from a 40 or almost any roll i beat him everytime n he made 318 to the wheels. Maybe your beating autos from a 40

Nah they are all M6 cars never raced an A4 car...trust me guys these are some of my very close friends....hell one is my brother. My buddy had a 99 Cobra went 12.50 at 110 and made 311rwhp...and I beat him badly and I have it on vid also will post it when I get back from the dyno 2 nite.

don't try to figure it out. Cory is a great driver. he is the only mustang I have lost too. that includes a 03 cobra. other machs with the same mods I beat by a few cars. but corys gets me by a car from a 40. don't know

I agree with that too. But one thing you have to consider. Gears are a big part of racing and that is usually the first mod a stang will do. Where as with a f-body most don't do gears till the rear breaks. Cory has 410s I have stock 342s.

It dosent make sense to me either. everyone that sees cory run in person is shocked at how well it does. good setup + great driver = fast car.

i still have my 10bolt, has been beefed up a little thats just cause i bought that way. and 4:10's will help your rear end cuz it takes more load off of it.

I just put a motor in my car, so I know how you feel. I had a lifter come apart and take out my motor..

That sucks i heard those motors couldnt handle a whole lot unless it was the 03-04 cobra but i wasnt sure. sry bout that now you can just build it faster n stronger. I heard that a teska block was really strong n its cheap to but i dnt know a whole lot bout fords

GTs safe power limit on pump gas is ~425rwhp (99-04 GTs), but since the 4V heads flow so much better they can usually safely run ~450rwhp. But it's hit and miss sometimes, especially with nitrous.
