Default changing fluid in th400

hey I have a quick question about changing fluid in my new th400, I am switching from regular fluid to trickshift and I put 10 quarts in at first of the normal stuff, but I had a small leak that is fixed now but some leaked out so when I drained it out not all 10 came out but I know there is some still left in the converter. How do I know how much to add in? I don't want to over/under fill it. Also, if there is a few quarts left in the converter doesnt that kinda suck for fluid changes as there is a decent amount of old fluid left in the tranny? Just curious, this is my first auto. It is a th400 with a deep pan, capacity says 9 1/2- 10 1/2 quarts.

Thanks
Nick
