Default Are These Dyno Numbers What They Should Be?

A friend of mine has a 408 iron block, Callies 2" crank, Wiseco -24cc pistons, 228/238 .571/.581 115+4 cam, L92 heads, and a Procharger in his truck. CR is like 8.5/1.The Dyno Jet is at 580 rwhp. Was hoping for 620 to 640 rwhp, was that too much to expect? How about some comments.

Sorry about that, I'm not a FI guy, It is 8#. I think it's the small Procharger with the smallest pulley.

Sounds OK to me then. Why doesn't he get a bigger blower? I don't see the point of having a built motor with a P1SC.

4L60E tranny. A D1 is in the future, he built this motor for 15 psi. A TH400 is next on the agenda. I think he's just somewhat disappointed that it's not putting out like 50 more rwhp. If you figure NA he should be close to 500 rwhp, then I don't think with FI, looking for another 125 rwhp is unreasonable.

Where should it be then NA? And is 150rwhp from the small Procharger expecting too much?

I would think probably in the low 400s somewhere.

That little blower is probably pretty taxed on his motor. Time far an upgrade! F1?

Just going off of my motor, mine is a 377ci low compression and I only made 400rwhp and 450rwtq n/a. So I would guesstimate your 408 n/a would be around the 430-450-rwhp range. Also the P1 is to small for the motor. You are more than likely hurting the performance of it rather than helping it.

Could be the blower runing out of steam or the tune. I Just had mine tuned on the dyno and my first run showed 400rwhp/416rwtq. After an hour of my tuner working on it he pulled 165rwhp out of it. I have a P-1sc @ 8psi on a 9.5 comp 347. I could be over 600 but im runing out of fuel. Who did the tune?

Maybe get a little more info on the CR. Stock L92's? Head gasket? How far the pistons are out of the hole? etc.. he might be lower on compression than you think. -26cc is a lot.

wow.. ya only 580rwhp with a 408ci?? Im running a stock bottom end with 7.9 pounds of boost with a D1SC and on a Mustang Dyno- my car pulled 543rwhp.... stock intake, basically stock heads, stock bottom end.. I would up to a D1SC and then you should see those 650-750rwhp with around 10psi...
