fule line disconnect on intake swap

Default fule line disconnect on intake swap

i am swapping my ls1 for an ls6...in trying to make sure i have all my procedures down pat before i start...on thing i found was that i need a special tool to remove the gas line...any info on this tool (where to buy, cost, size, etc.), and any info on the procedure to use tool to remove line....any help would be greatly appreciated.

any auto parts or tool store will have the tool or a setup tools to handle the GM Fuel QD or and others.. Snap-On, Mac, KD, and the list goes on, they all market the tool.

Agreed, if you're only gonna do it once, you can get the cheap plastic fuel line disconnect tool. Make sure you push the line towards the intake while pushing the disconnect tool in, should come right off.

if your not putting aftermarket fuel rails on there you don't need to do anything to the fuel lines. just when your doing the swap move the fuel rails over out of the way, they don't need to be disconnected.

I say buy the $2 tool; I found the intake easier to swap with the fuel rail off. I removed the fuel rail then installed it on the new intake before installing.

I didn't take the fuel rails off at all, wasn't in the way or anything. I just pulled them up and ziptied them to the hood prop out of the way. I just hate those little pushlock fittings.

its for a 3/8 fuel line quick disconnect, I got mine at O'Reillys

just pop of the injectors and move the fuel rails over to the side there is no need to disconnect them.

You can do it either way. LEave it attached and swap it or disconnect the fuel line and swap it. You can just use two small screw drivers if you want, be careful and gentle. I did it that way the first time and then found a Snap-on tool from ebay for cheap so I bought it.
